A Brief History

Established in 1968 by Joe Tarsia, Sigma Sound was known worldwide for its distinctive sound and recording innovations.  Hits by The O'Jays, Stylistics and others produced at 212 No. 12th Street in Philadelphia by Kenny

Gamble, Leon Huff and Thom Bell, drew top recording artists such as David Bowie and Stevie Wonder.

John's Memories

Joe Tarsia called me and asked me to bring over my little rhythm section, Tom Sellers, Tim Moore, Daryl Hall and Jim Helmer, to test out the studio.  Everything sounded great.  Joe kept on improving the studio with always the latest equipment.  All you gotta do is listen to the sound on the Gamble & Huff records.  They were all recorded at Sigma Sound.
