Len Barry's Greatest Hits

LenBarry3in.jpg

This CD features 11 of Len Barry's greatest hits, including "1-2-3" and "Like A Baby."  They are from the original masters, recorded in 1965, not re-recorded sides.  Len co-wrote 9 of the songs on this historical CD.  These songs show Len Barry's incredible talent with a style that was uniquely his own.

Len Barry achieved worldwide success with his #1 record, "1-2-3," written by Len and the record producing/songwriting team of John Madara & Dave White.  What followed were two other smash hits, "Like A Baby," again written by Len and Madara & White, and "Somewhere," written by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim for the film "Westside Story."  All 11 songs were produced by Madara & White.

Before going out on his own as a solo artist, Len Barry achieved success as the lead singer of The Dovells.  They had several top 20 hits, including the #2 record, "Bristol Stomp" and "You Can't Sit Down," which reached #3.

This historical CD contains valuable information on the arranger and musicians who played on each song, the year the song was recorded and the studio where it was recorded.

This one-of-a-kind CD is presented by John Madara.  Besides producing all 11 songs and co-writing with Len seven of the songs on this CD, including "1-2-3," Madara & White wrote and produced such timeless classics as "At The Hop" (Danny And The Juniors), "The Fly" (Chubby Checker), and "You Don't Own Me" (Leslie Gore).  These and countless other hits by Madara & White helped to create "The Sound of Philadelphia."

***** 123 Easy.  There are a lot of definitions you could write about Len Barry and his music, along with a plethera of words to denote the absolute brilliance of the man and his music. needless to say this cd carries not only classics oldies, but it is also has some tracks that are not widely known in other people eyes or ears. Nuff said. - Reviewer:  Alan White - Amazon

***** I remember some of these tracks from the 60's and always liked them. When I came across this on Amazon UK, I had to buy it. I was not disappointed. Can't stop playing it now! One track I particularly love is 'It's That Time Of Year' which was played on the pirate radio stations Radio Caroline and Radio London, and thought I would never hear it again. If you like Len Barry, you will love this CD. - Reviewer:  Mr. N.E. Thompson - Amazon
