THE
BEST OF PHILLY SOUL VOL. 2
Bunny
Sigler
This CD
features 16 songs by the great, soulful artist, Bunny Sigler.
Recorded between 1965 and 1967, they show Bunny's amazing versatility
in the dynamic way he offers up his different vocal techniques on
each song.
Bunny Sigler
found national success with the record producing/songwriting team
of John Madara & Dave White. John came up with the idea
to combine together and rework two Shirley Goodman and Lee Leonard
standards, "Let The Good Times Roll" and "Feel So Good."
"Let The Good Times Roll" was a huge success, reaching 22
on the national charts in June of 1967. Bunny continued recording
with Madara & White, including a rework of Clyde McPhatter's "Lovey
Dovey," combined with The Falcons' "You're So Fine."
"Lovey Dovey" also made the charts in 1967.
Bunny would later find success as a prolific songwriter, working with
artists such as Billy Paul, Patti LaBelle, Shirley Jones, Lou Rawls,
Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes and many others. He also recorded
several solo albums for Philadelphia International Records.
This historical
CD contains valuable information, when available, on the musicians
who played on each song as well as the date the song was recorded
and the studio where it was recorded.
Along with
Madara & White, the other songwriters and/or producers featured
on the CD include Lennon & McCartney, Leon Huff,* Cindy Scott,
Shirley Goodman and Lee Leonard, Carold King & Jerry Goffen, Ray
Gilmore, Sonny Thompson, Curtis/Nuggy and Finnie/Scofield.
*Leon Huff,
who was discovered by John Madara, produced and played keyboards on
several of the songs. This was before he hooked up with Kenny
Gamble to become one of the most successful writing/producing teams
in the music business with a huge catalog of #1 records.
This one-of-a-kind
CD is presented by John Madara. Along with partner, Dave White,
he wrote and produced such timeless classics as AT THE HOP (Danny
And The Juniors), THE FLY (Chubby Checker), YOU DON'T OWN ME (Leslie
Gore) and 1-2-3 (Len Barry, who also co-wrote the song with Madara
& White). These and countless other hits by Madara &
White helped to create "The Sound of Philadelphia."
All songs
have been digitally restored and digitally mastered.

for a Sunny Sunday, Follow your Heart, Can you dig it, Comparatively
speaking of course, it's time to Let the good times roll, and I
